Hi all who remember me. I am sorry i have not been on the forum for a long time.
We have had quite alot going on at home in the last few months. My father in law is in hospital and poorly but with no definite diagnosis as yet, consequently Mike has spent the last few weeks going backwards and forwards to the hospital. Our son Patrick has had ongoing problems with his Crohn's disease a well as coping with university interviews and travel, he has a conditional offer now to do theatre design at Nottingham Trent. He has now been put on Azothiaprine, and Prednisolone again, fingers crossed that this works. Elizabeth has been working hard on an access course and has a place to do history at Manchester Met uni. On top of all this i have been ill with a chest infection for the last few weeks.
Best wishes to everyone on here. Hope you all have a good time in Leicester, sorry we can't be there.

Hi Bev,
That's strange, I was only thinking about you yesterday and wondering how you are! Sorry to hear about your father -in-law, I hope he recovers soon. Patrick has a lot to cope with at the moment but I'm glad he's got an offer for a uni place and hope he manages to get the grades to secure it. Fingers crossed that the new meds work well for him. Well done to Elizabeth too, for getting a place at Manchester. You'll have two of them off to uni next year! I hope your chest infection is improving now. It's lovely to hear from you.
Love, Doreen xx

Hi Bev, It`s good to hear from you. I`m sorry to hear about your father-in-law - it`s very wearing going backwards & forwards to hospital. I hope you get a firm diagnosis soon. Well done Patrick for his offer from Uni. I hope his meds work well for him. I had a friend with Crohns, diagnosed while she was at Leics University. She did complete her maths degree and went on to get married, have children and get a really good job in our local hospital, so good luck to Patrick. Well done your daughter too - you`ll have them both away together, like our two sons. I hope your chest infection clears soon - they are horrible things to shake off. Take care, Kathleen x

Hi Bev
I'm so sorry I haven't rung or been in touch for such a long time.
When we are back from Leicester I will ring you and we can arrange a meet up.
You seem to be having som horrid problems just now and I expect Mike is very tired with all the hospital visiting.
Take care - I'll ring as soon as we are back
Love Jeanxxxxx

Lovely to hear from you. I am sorry Patrick has Crohn's, it can be nasty can't it. We have a very close friend who has it but it is sporadic and he takes steroids to calm it down.
Great about the Uni places, where does he want to go? And lovely to hear of another Patrick, our fifth baby is Patrick and I always adored this name and whispered it into Mark's ear throughout the whole pregnancy! LOL It worked thankfully!
Love,
Amanda

Dear Bev, So nice to hear from you and very sorry to hear that you are 'going through the mill' at the moment Life's a bit like that, all or nothing. I do hope you are soon feeling better - we miss you on here but totally understand that sometimes it just isn't possible to keep all the plates in the air at the same time Warmest wishes, Ann (Monty) "I cannot do everything. I accept that. Not being able to do everything is no excuse for doing nothing." ~ Helen Keller

Hi again, thanks for your replies.
Mike's dad is still in hospital we still don't know what's wrong with him, he is 86 and has always been frail and suffered from ankylosing spodylitis all his life, but has recently more or less stopped eating but know one knows why. His mobility has also deteriorated and he has emphysema. He won't be fit to go back into his bungalow on discharge, he will probabaly need nursing home care so all that will have to be sorted out.
I have just seen all the photos from Leicester it looks like everyone had a good time.

Hi Bev,
I'm really sorry you and your family have so much on your plate at the moment.
Your father-in-law certainly sounds like he's not very well and it must be such a huge worry for you all. I had to do a lot of organising for my Mum-in-law after she had a stroke and needed to go into a nursing home. It's no easy task and I found it really took it out of me mentally and physically, but it is very rewarding when you can find somewhere nice for them, somewhere you know they will enjoy the remaining years of their life.
I hope he makes a speedy recovery and I'll be thinking of you x
